"I'm miserable."

And with that statement Alden has, and we accompanied, our first case of childhood bacterial pnumonia. The picture at right is what Alden feels like, except the bubbles. A fever modulating between 100 and 104 (where we promptly administered acetominophen and a wet washcloth, i.e. "the cold blanket"). Isaac is so far safe, and mom and dad feel fine, but we worry for our little boy. He probably got sick when "anonymous" in the previous post said Isaac was cuter :) Anonymous, you suck!
We've seen the doctor and he's on the mend. One of the things western medicine has going for it, besides that it works most of the time, is bubble gum flavor. Alden's been a real trooper, but good thoughts for a speedy recovery will be read to him as they e-rrive.

The "I Love You Birthday"

Happy Valentines Day. Christa and I spent the weekend being sick. Alden spiked a 103.6 fever last night, and Isaac, well, he couldn't be happier, protected by his mother's little antibodies. Alden declared on Monday, "I'm miserable." I've found that over the course of three days I've lost 7 lbs.
Hey, we're still pretty happy and managed to even get to the model train museum. Isaac sat up right in the middle of one of the play trains and just about twisted his head off looking at the train choo-chooing around. Alden is quite the engineer. Alden and Daddy bought mommy a "Secret" box of chocolate for V-day, and mommy got daddy some yummy caramels. Alden recieved a balloon and Isaac got his picture taken (top).
Before this, I'd have had said the boys look different, but here they look really alike. Both of them are getting new teeth this week, Isaac his front bottoms and Alden his two-year molars (which we believe means they take two years to come in, sheesh). The house is in good shape, Christa ordered new carpet for the bedrooms, and the lawn is really green and nice. We also planted one of my experimental saguaro in the succulent garden.
